WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama will meet key European allies and China's Xi Jinping during an upcoming three-country overseas trip, the White House said Friday, hoping to reassure partners after Donald Trump's shock election. Trump's election has thrown delicately balanced geopolitics into flux. The White House wants to stress that through previous administrations, Republican and Democratic presidents have held fast to alliances with allies in Europe, Japan and South Korea. Rhodes said that Obama would address "the need to respond effectively to the issues that have been raised by globalization." That, he said, includes the fallout from Britain's vote to leave the European Union and America's own election.
